The Grahas move continually on their paths and exercise an influence on the fixed positions of the Grahas as seen in the birth horoscope. The slow moving Grahas (Shani, Rahu, Ketu, and Guru) have a longer effect and are therefore of greater importance for the predictions.
In the Maharishi Jyotish program the transits are seen primarily from the position of Chandra in the birth horoscope. However, the transits from the Lagna also have a considerable influence; and the transits from Surya or even other Grahas in the birth horoscope are also considered.
In this example we see the Janma Kundali with the fixed positions of the Grahas at the time of birth. In the circle of the Rashis and Nakshatras we see the daily movement of the Grahas—Gocharas.
Some examples of Gochara—Transits of Planets would be:
Guru moves from Karka to Simha on 30.Jul.03 until 27.Aug.04
Rahu moves from Vrishabha to Mesha on 28.Aug.03 until 22.Feb.05
Ketu moves from Vrishchika to Tula on 28.Aug.03 until 22.Feb.05
Shani moves from Mithuna to Karka on 5.Sep.04 until 2.Nov.06
